Broome And Darwin Road Trip
Well after leaving Balfour downs station, i travelled up to Darwin via Broome. It was about a 30 hour drive, something like that, mad eah 30 hours in a car and your still in the same country. We didnt really have a time limit for the journey so we stopped off several times at motels on the way. There was four men and a dog doing the journey in a relatively small 4x4. First leg was to broome, a coastel town north of were i had been staying. Took about 15 hours, and one stop over to get there. Broome i thought was very nice, a quiet place, but with a good nightlife, and boy did i hit it hard. Being on the station for so long and not really drinking that much, took its toll on me. At 12 i was gone, was wrecked we all were, it was so funny, pity i dont have any pics of the night was to drunk to even think of taking some. Good job really, no evidence is good ha. Broome is well known for its big pearl buisness, it was everywhere, shops selling these amazing pearls and gems. Broome has a awesome beach called cable beach. There is a picture of the car parked right at the water, it was really nice to be able go swimming again, i was like a big kid, ha lol. We only stayed a few nights in broome before heading off to darwin. On route to darwin we stayed at a motel/ holiday camp site. The camp site had naturel hot springs, they were awesome, the water was just right, just hot enough. I stayed in them for ages. There was places like this all over the place in the norhten territory, there is some pics of me swimming in another spot, were during the wet season, crocks go. Didnt know this till after i had swam in it. There was other people in the water so i felt pretty safe. The waterfall and the rock pools were just outside darwin, a place called kakadu National park. It was class, really amazing to see. Had plenty of fun messing around in the rock pools, for such a small pool, it was so deep. couldnt even touch the bottom.
