Road Trip
Well we are all on the road trip now, In picture 2 it shows all the guys that im travelling with, Rob and Tom at the front, then me the three welsh lads, Rob, James and Pete and one irish lad Wayne. There is also a coule of girls travelling with us but i dont really have a picture of them, ill try and get one before we all split up again and go our seperate ways. On the road trip itself there is me, Rob and Tom, the welsh and two irish. Wayne and his girlfriend Jamie. We are in two cars Waynes white ford falcon and our PASSION WAGON. As you can see from the first picture we are pretty well loaded up, surf boards on the roof bags in the back, unfortunately the tv had to stay : (
We set off from Sydney on tues morning the 20th of march. We had about a five hour journey to a place called Wagga Wagga. Its a city in land in nsw. This was were we had planned to work on a farm for a week. It was a good break for us and also the car. She is an old beauty, we got to look after her. We werent getting paid on the farm, it was just free accomadation and food. It was a little cramped on the farm as usually the farmer only takes on four or five people. The guy we were staying with was called Brad, a supply teacher by trade. The week that we were there he was only off one or two days, he would often leave a list of jobs for us to do, e.g repairing fences, droving( looking after cattle ), planting trees and generally cleaned the place up.Nothing to hard. In picture 3 it shows me, rob, wayne and tom all getting to grips with some lambs. As you can see mine was playing dead. : ) HA GOOD FUN. Most of the time we were there, the weather was really hot, so we had our fair share of bbqs as you can tell from picture 4. I really enjoyed working here and would happily of stayed longer. Brad also let us use his vehicles, we had a ute ( pick up ), descent size truck and a scrambler ( werent supposed to be using it). I would say the ute and the scrambler got the most use, we would often just fly about on the motor bike, really good fun, we werelucky we never got court using it.
In the farm next to Brads there was a really nice fresh water river called murrumbidgee, it also ran through the city, were they had a fake beach. We went here nearly every day, it was so refreshing. The last picture is of most of the lads messing about in the water. During his spair time Brad coaches the local Girls Aussie Rules Team, me and a copule of the others thought we should at least try aussie rules, all be it with girls. It was a really good experience, the game is a bit weird at first but after just one training session, we were starting to get the hang off it. Physical game would like to try it again, in a mens team. We went out on the sat nite in Wagga, was a bit of a let down really, we all thought with there being a army and airforce base aswell as a uni it would be a pretty good nite out. We left the farm on mon the 26th and headed down towards Melbourne, another five hour journey. The distance we have travelled so far in our PASSION WAGON is about 850 km and have no problems, well sometimes she over heats when we are in the citys, but on the open road she is a smooth runner.
